What will therapy with Aubrey look like?
For therapy to be the most helpful for you it is important that you find a therapist that works in a way that works for you. I offer a free welcome session to explore together whether two orange dogs therapy is for you. How therapy looks for you will depend in part on what it is that you are looking for as well as the way that I work.
Psychotherapy is primarily a talking therapy. I offer weekly sessions of an hour online or in-person. In each session you will be invited to see what is present for you in the moment in your mind, heart, and body. What you bring to discuss each week will form the basis of what is covered in each session. I will provide a safe compassionate space for you to talk freely. There may be some questions or suggestions from me, but mostly therapy is about giving you a safe space to explore and become more familiar with and caring for your experience, whatever that may be. This includes the difficult as well as the comfortable or enjoyable.
Core Process Psychotherapy has an embodied focus, so depending on what you bring to talk about, questions may include asking you to feel into and share - if you feel comfortable to do so - what is happening in your body. For example, is there tension or a feeling of pressure or lightness, a freezing sensation in the chest, a doom-like feeling in the stomach. Exploring these sensations in a safe holding relationship can help you to understand how your experience is patterned.
